    Our trip home has been a crap show. Was supposed to be on an Alaska flight home last night, but the plane experienced technical issues and blew a tire. Experiencing the worst customer service with American Airlines. First, they deny the free checked bags we had with Alaska (that rebooked us) and forced us to pay. Then, the check-in staff were extremely rude and refused to accommodate us in any way whatsoever and didn’t even bother to call Alaska and ask about this issue. They claimed it happens often, but clearly didn’t care. Refused to give us the customer complaint phone number. They put us in separate seats on our flight. To top it off, they forced us to check in our carry-on bags when there was still overhead room on the plane. I captured a photo of the empty spaces where our bags could have gone. So many reasons why I don’t fly on this garbage airline. We couldn’t even get a direct flight home, have to land in Chicago first 🤬

    This review is American Airlines at CLT. We were flying home from Tokyo bought ticket from American. First leg was Japan airways flight great on time arrived SFO no problems then AA to charlotte their hub. Flight was delayed by 20 or so minutes, pilots did a great job making up time as I had tight connection 49 minutes. After landing turned on phone to find my on time flight home to RSW was cancelled!! WELL this is where AA failed miserably. On the app in our technology society could not rebook a new flight and phone lines were saying 8 hr to 3 hr hold time. So I did the only choice stand in a line at service counter which was over 100 yards long. My wife who checked all terminal lines said ours was the shortest. I got an e Mail shortly after cancelled flight that said I could get a voucher for hotel and transportation which I thought was great as I had an idea that the 1030 flight was last out. You guessed it NONE available try back in a few minutes…right not. After sheer luck got an agent on phone who said first available flight out of AA hub to RSW was Monday this was Saturday night. Finally decided to change and go to TPA and rent a car as I spent night in airport and could get the hell out of here at 8AM. Not sure the combination of some weather and day ago, maintenance or pilot shortage that caused our problems. But the airport was a homeless camp. Something was screwed up.     I had two delayed flights in a row, have spent hours over the past 5 weeks trying to get the promised reimbursements for lodging, transportation , food paid, and still have no resolution. They also lost my bags and delivered them halfway through my trip, damaged. I will not use this airline again.

    Recently I made a number of flights to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport to visit a terminally ill family member. The flights themselves are par for the course, no better or worse than other airlines. The one big problem is, I have TSA Precheck, which I have had for quite a few years. Long enough that I've had to renew it twice (every 5 years). American never put it on my boarding pass, the agent at the airport could not add it. The first time I figured I forgot to add the Known Travellers Number when I purchased the ticket. The second time I double checked that I did, but it still was not added. The third time I called customer service and they assure me it was added, but it was not. Two different agents at the airport told me THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, apparently, they just don't bother to fix it! Unfortunately, I had no other choice to travel to that destination, but since then, when looking for tickets to another destination, I automatically exclude American. If you can't be bothered to hire professional IT technicians, I can't be bothered being a customer.

    I paid $100+ more for an extremely restricted ticket than my friends paid for theirs on the exact same flight. I tried to get on standby for an earlier flight, but I was told NO. Because at American Airlines, they charge you more money for less convenience. After all, look at how busy this airport is. So glad I get to sit here another four hours.
