We are here in Dallas Fort Worth waiting for the plane to go. We have been waiting here for at least an hour. Our destination is Little Rock, Arkansas which takes about 48 minutes. Now, it’s going to at least take an hour because this plane can’t go. Also, flight attendant had an attitude which made the experience even worse. Can’t we just get to Arkansas already? NO. We have to wait still which is NOT fun at all. Also it is super hot in here so my mom had to get our fan. The plane literally says ON TIME but it’s probably about to be DELAYED. Thanks American Airlines for making a 50 minute flight to an 1 hour and 30 minutes flight.

⭐ One-Star Review: 29 Years of Disappointment with American Airlines After nearly three decades of flying with American Airlines, I can honestly say that this airline has never lived up to even basic expectations. Unfortunately, my frequent flying hub leaves me with little choice but to use this airline—almost out of necessity rather than preference. Over the years, nothing seems to have improved. The regional and domestic aircraft are still outdated, with narrow seats, no charging ports, and very limited amenities except long haul flights. The airport operations are inefficient, and customer service feels indifferent at best in both regional and larger airports. My biggest frustration has always been with DFW operations. Every single time I’ve flown through DFW, there has been some kind of delay—either mechanical or operational. I cannot recall ever making a connecting flight there on time. There’s rarely a sincere apology, no sense of empathy, and absolutely no compensation. It often feels like passengers’ time and experience simply don’t matter. In comparison, my experiences with United, Alaska, and Delta have been far more positive. Their crews are professional, friendly, and attentive—everything American Airlines consistently fails to deliver. The ground and gate staff at DFW are particularly disappointing—often unhelpful, sometimes rude, and frequently unorganized. The management seems to have no urgency or respect for passengers’ schedules. Flights are pushed back repeatedly with any sincere meaningful communication or transparency. While I fully understand that safety must come first, the lack of proactive management and planning is what truly stands out. If a flight is arriving early but no gate is ready, or if a known mechanical issue isn’t handled promptly, that’s simply poor coordination. After 29 years, it’s clear that American Airlines still struggles with the same systemic problems—inefficiency, lack of accountability, and a culture that fails to value its passengers. Until serious improvements are made, I will continue to consider this airline as a last resort rather than a choice.

I booked a flight through American Airlines, and part of the trip was operated by one of their partner airlines, Contour. Unfortunately, the Contour flight was delayed twice, which caused us to miss our connecting flight home. American Airlines rebooked us on the next available flight, which was three hours later—but they did not accommodate or refund the extra legroom seats my husband and I had already paid for on our original flight. It wasn’t our fault we missed the connection, yet we were the ones who had to take the loss. To make things worse, we had to change gates three different times during the wait. It was exhausting and disorganized. Overall, a disappointing experience with poor customer service and little consideration for the inconvenience caused.

Wow...look at this mountain of bad reviews and no meaningful action to resolve the issues or engage. Pathetic and speaks volumes. Absolute trash airline. First experience using this company and for a two-flight trip, I've had over ONE DOZEN unjustified delays that ultimately led to canceling and then a rebooked date for another day that was impossible for most passengers to commit to. But they got to keep most of the money and gave out credits that amounted to less than half of what they ripped us off for. Nothing more than a deceptive, disorganized company ripe with negligence and incompetence. And the really funny part was when they tried to delay our flight many times they eventually announced that the entire crew was "lost" and just left. So, no one was left to man a plane. Where are the standards and accountability? I fly A LOT and this never happens when I use Southwest. I literally missed the damn event that I'm traveling for because of these people. NEVER AGAIN! You will never get another dollar from our family and we'll be sure to warn others too.

My father and I were traveling to Yellowstone National Park, and we had a connecting flight in Dallas, also with American Airlines. However, our flight was delayed. Because of the delay, we missed part of our trip — we had already booked a rental car and a campsite in Yellowstone, but neither could be refunded. I had to spend an extra day in Dallas and pay for the hotel myself. In total, the delay cost us two full days of our trip, and we lost one day that we were supposed to spend in Yellowstone. The trip was not as enjoyable as planned because of this delay.

Plane delayed hours not because of the shut down but because they couldn’t find a crew. Second time this happened to me. Airport gate workers are apathetic and unhelpful. I used to be gold but won’t bother anymore. Then another 30 minutes because there was a plane already at our gate. And then one hour for the bags to arrive in a nearly empty airport in Las Vegas.

Must be the worst Airline on the planet! Avoid at all costs, staff is super rude and unhelpful. Flying out of Toronto with a commending flight in Miami we were forced to check in our carry on bags for the connecting flight. The only luggage we took for the week since we wanted to travel light. Well they allowed passengers to board to too many carry on items and not enough room for our group, that also had upgrade seats.. we asked them to make certain our luggage will arrive with us..

I'm going to give AA a 5 star. Flew to Madrid, Spain for a concert with my daughter, kind of one of those crazy ideas. I was most worried about government shutdown/ flight delays. The flight was on time, enjoyed the Admirals lounge, arrived early, food and drink service was great, got an upgrade on the way back, Iberia Lounge was great through the Oneworld Alliance. The concert was cancelled, if you could believe that. But wanted to give the American Airlines team a high five/ pat on the back for a seamless experience, totally professional. I hope this review makes its way to you pilots, crew members, and staff making it happen. The perks of American status are worth it. Thank you!

I would give this airline ZERO stars if I could! American Airlines consistently finds ways to be late. I absolutely dread having to use this airline when the destinations are American hubs! 90% of flights I’ve had on American have been at least 1+ hour late or simply cancelled! If you need to be on time for your travel, DO NOT count on American to get you there on time! Plan for A LOT OF EXTRA TIME or make sure you have alternate flights on other airlines when American cancels! Lastly, American, please change your name! You are embarrassing our great country!

Flew first class from SeaTac to Dallas/Fort Worth and the airplane was delayed by a hour. I will give them credit for landing only 10 minutes last the original expected landing time however. In the air, the service from the flight attendants was amazing. Lots of snacks, pre-flight beverage and a fancy glass it was in! Once landed, the gate for my layover kept changing. It was originally gate A, then Gate C, then Gate D, then Gate B. All in the span of 20 minutes after landing (the layover was only a hour) I made it roughly 10 minutes before boarding, but then the plane was also delayed by OVER a hour, but once again it landed roughly on time.
