American is the worst airline. I would rate them -5 stars if I could. Having delays all the time, it’s insane. I experience delays every time I use this airline. My worst experience when I used AA for an international trip. Delays going that made me miss my flights in another country, loosing money, not only that. My flight returning to the US was also delayed, causing me to miss my connecting flight and was stuck for 24 hours in another city because they only had one flight a day to my destination. Avoiding this airline at all costs.

Discriminatory & Unprofessional Treatment of First-Class Passengers I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment my elderly mother (nearly 70 years old) and I received while traveling to Aruba with your American Airline, despite holding first-class tickets for four individual flights. Upon arrival at the airport, we appropriately entered the Priority/First Class check-in line. However, we were unexpectedly & unreasonably directed to a different line, one that included over 20 student athletes requiring group processing. This unnecessary reassignment significantly delayed our check-in, leaving us with only 45 minutes to board our flight. At the check-in counter, we were met with alarming levels of unprofessional behavior. The staff member assisting us refused to provide her name and was not wearing a visible name tag. She and another employee were seen laughing and conversing casually while we stood waiting for assistance, clearly being ignored. When she finally acknowledged us, she coldly informed us that we were one minute past the boarding cut-off and would not be allowed to board — despite our first-class status and the delay being caused by the line reassignment imposed by your own staff. We were re-booked in economy (Row 28), and when we inquired about a refund or compensation for the downgraded seats, the staff member said under her breath, “Maybe you shouldn't book flights you can’t afford to miss,”.

On my flight from Denver with a stopover in North Carolina, there was a delay of over an hour. I received notice from American Airlines that the flight from North Carolina to South Bend was also delayed by an hour. However, the airline prevented me from taking my flight from North Carolina to South Bend, leaving four passengers who were going to my final destination stranded. I then asked the ground staff for help so they could solve the problem, but they were not kind to the affected passengers, including me. I regret choosing this airline as my means of transportation. I will take this into account for travel information. I am very upset with the situation. It is unbelievable how they can leave four passengers stranded who are not their fault. The airline can change the schedule on the same day of the flight, and I had notice from the airline that we were leaving at a different time, so that it is on record that we flew that same day, when that was not the case. I was unable to take my flight to South Bend on June 26th because the plane left much earlier than expected, and this affected all my travel plans.

So we booked a cruise through Miami and day of leaving, American Airlines flights were very delayed. We have multiple family on different flights, so we were trying to figure out how to get our family on different flights so we wouldn’t miss the cruise ship and the gate agents were horrible. There was no one at the gates and when there was, the only answer we kept getting was “that’s not my flight, I can’t help you.” It was the most stressful and frustrating experience ever. It was very unprofessional. I spoke to 3 different agents and kept getting passed along to different gates. I felt so small and invisible trying to get help. I did not have time to go out of security to go to the AA official help area. I will never be flying American Airlines again. Very sad.

Another very nice trip on American Airlines! Took off on time and arrived slightly early. Pilots and FAs were helpful and informative on the flight. Plane was dated, but comfortable. Definitely happy with this flight on AA!!

I had purchased a round trip flight in basic economy because money is tight. I wasn't able to make the outgoing flight because of an emergency. Call the airline and was told nothing could be done. I was told there would be no issue with the return flight. So I bought a one way to my destination. When I got to the airport to fly back home is when I was informed my return flight had been canceled. The worker stated there were plenty of seats on the flight that I could purchase for $757. If the situation and treatment to that point hadn't been enough the Employee states "what did you learn...never buy basic economy" so extremely rude and unprofessional.
