Usually we have a pretty good experience with American Airlines but lately we have experienced many flight delays and cancelations which are not always due to weather however you're on you're own with no compensation etc. My wife had a connecting flight booked through Charlotte last night but it was delayed so decided to stay back in Daytona because we were afraid of missing the connection and being stuck in Charlotte with her service dog at the airport. We made the right call because the connecting flight was ultimately canceled. Today we went to the check in counter at Daytona to standby but the agent told us that we could not because the standby list was closed 52 minutes before flight and also could not bring our service dog because tge policy had changed? She went anyway to the gate to try and both she and the service dog were accommodated on the flight. A big thank you to the gate agent today for helping a stranded traveler!

US Airways treats our Service Men and Women horrible!!!! My Daughter and her husband are in the US Air Force stationed in Germany. She purchased a ticket to fly home for a visit. Two weeks before her departure her husbands mother became seriously ill, so they both had to take emergency leave to attend to her in New York, so she was unable to use the ticket she purchased from US Airways. They would not refund her money but said she could use the ticket within 1 year. Before she got a chance to use the ticket she was transferred back to the US. She called US Airway, now American Airlines to request that the ticket she already paid for be used by her husband, still stationed in Germany to come home for Christmas. She was told,NO NON-TRANSFERABLE. WOW!!!!!! What a horrible way to treat our US Service members defending our country. We owe ALL of our service men and women so much for what they do. Shame on American Airlines, how very UNAMERICAN OF THEM.

We had the DISPLEASURE of flying with American Airlines July 20, 2019 & July 25, 2019. Where do I begin?... First, upon checking one bag, we were told, due to our bag exceeding fifty pounds, the cost would be $100.00. Our credit card was charged $130.00! No gate number was provided to us! We had to wander aimlessly and ask an AA representative, who was RUDE! All representatives were RUDE! We were told we could NOT board the plane after first class was called. (We had a service dog and a stroller) We were VIP seating! We were UNABLE to access the AA WIFI once aboard the plane. Being in VIP seating, we asked if there was a charge for alcoholic beverages. We were told, YES! (On our return flight from LAS to CLT, we asked the flight attendant if there was a charge for alcoholic beverages. She also said, YES! The passenger sitting next to us, in the aisle seat, told and showed us that alcoholic beverages are FREE!) We don’t appreciate being LIED to!!! Once we arrived in CLT, we were told there was a THREE-HOUR delay! We had PRE-PAID tickets for a show in Las Vegas at 9:00pm that cost us $204.88 and were NON-REFUNDABLE! We understand that weather conditions are not in anyone’s control; however, we were NOT offered any compensation for the money and our valuable waiting time that were out! We encountered the same NO WIFI and NO alcohol from CLT to LAS! What happened to the good ‘ole days where there were screens to view movies (with provided ear/head-phones), actual meals and a variety of snacks (that were INCLUDED; NOT a charge for) as well as FRIENDLY and CALM flight attendants? We flew with AA this past Easter and had a POSITIVE experience. That is why we chose to fly with AA again. BAD mistake! Wish we flew with Southwest! This was a traveling NIGHTMARE we had to endure!

Sam at the front counter was extremely rude!!! Maybe he was having a bad day. I asked him a question about what line I was supposed to be in because I am flying first class and he looked at me then said to the person standing next to me in the general boarding line NEXT... with a attitude and proceeded to take 2 more people ahead of me. Finally another person said ma’am please come over in this line ahead of me because you’ll miss your flight waiting on him to acknowledge you. So I get to the counter and I asked was I in the wrong line he said I don’t know what line you were in but I’m Only taking people from the line in front of me. So basically I paid to have priority for nothing. His name was Sam or San

I can’t express my gratitude enough for Jeff at the ticket counter. This man is an amazing person! He helped me solve an issue I had with booking my daughters flight. It was Mother’s Day and I was stressed but he beared with me and made sure my daughter got her flight situated. Jon even jumped in to help. Thank you both so much!!!!!
