    Worst service ever. My flight was delayed 2+ hours, missed my connecting flight, and had to cancel the rest of the flight because American Airlines rebooked me to arrive the next night. Too late for me because I needed to be at work that morning. I was told by the airline that I would have my luggage with me and to check it in with Delta, who happened to have a morning flight. I waited ANOTHER 2 hours for them to tell me my luggage was loaded on another plane! Not sure why I couldn't be on that plane since my luggage was on it. I finally make it to my final destination and my luggage is still missing in action. This is the second time I have flown with American Airlines, and this is the second time their delays caused me to miss my connecting flights and stress over missing luggage. No compensation for the extra checked bag I paid for because they said I would have my luggage. Moving forward, I will try my best to fly with another airline. Too stressful and disappointing to fly with them.

    I think there are solid reasons why American Airlines only gets 2.4 stars. Let me add to the disappointment. My son and I were flying to Japan. About six weeks before departure I noticed that they failed to seat a minor with the accompanying adult. If it we a short domestic flight I wouldn't mind all that much. However, this was a 13-hour international flight. My son is 12 years old and this was his first long flight. When I noticed this, I called customer service. They said they wouldn't make any changes unless I paid them. This was the first red flag. After paying them $100 I was assured that we would be sat together but that they couldn't verify seating assignments. This was the second red flag. Upon checking in at the airport, our boarding passes had us seated separately, even though I paid the $100 to avoid that. Once again, the gate agents said there was nothing they could do about it. Cleared I felt scammed. They had plenty ability to take my money but no ability to do anything after that. Of course, I have not received a refund nor do I expect it from this company. Needless to say, I will not be flying AA again. I would have given them one star were it not for the flight staff. They were actually quite nice and attentive. They were also apologetic for the lack of customer service on the corporate side.

    If I could out negative stars that would be better. Do not ever fly with this airline. They will make you late to everywhere you need to go. They will loose all your luggage and you'll be lucky to even get to the correct location. The lack of customer service and care and concern for their customers is astonishingly low. After a month of arguing with them they still have my toddlers car seat and won't pay for a new one and instead send me their policy links. When you request a manager they will refuse or reject you constantly. They are hands down the worst experience I have ever had with any airline and if this review helps at least one person not fly with them then its worth it.

    Absolutely embarrassing performance by American Airlines baggage team at SLC Hands down one of the worst baggage claim experiences I’ve ever had. After landing at Salt Lake City, it took over 30 minutes for bags to even start unloading—and that’s not an exaggeration. No updates, no announcements, no urgency. Just a bunch of staff standing around while a plane full of people waited. It felt like the baggage crew either didn’t care or didn’t know what they were doing. Either way, it’s a bad look for American Airlines. This level of disorganization and indifference is unacceptable from any airline, let alone a major one. If you’re traveling through SLC with American, prepare for delays and poor service. The team here is an embarrassment to the brand.

    Once again… flight delay. Never fails. Traveling with three kids. And the response I get is, well Dallas has a lot of flights to MIA. I want my original flight. I want to get home as planned. American is always always always delayed.

    If you have a flight credit with American it expires in one year, and they WILL NOT send you an email that it is going to expire. We even booked another flight with American without any indication that I had a flight credit. After booking the new flight, I called to see if the flight credit could be applied but they said no. Also their regional planes like Bombardier are very old, the worst headroom of any flight I have ever had, wifi did not work, and the flight was delayed twice. American has become one of the worst airlines.
