Alaska Airlines: The Only Airline Without Staff When You Need Them Want to feel completely abandoned at the airport? Fly Alaska Airlines. While literally every other airline has their check-in counters staffed and ready to help passengers, Alaska makes you wait. Their baggage check doesn't open until a ridiculously close two hours before departure, and if you arrive a minute before that, tough luck. You will receive no warning about this. There is no one there to answer questions, provide help, or check your bags if you arrive early. It's astounding. Currently, dozens of people are just stuck waiting because Alaska Airlines can't be bothered to staff their counters like every other airline. This level of unhelpfulness is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and book with an airline that actually has a presence at the airport and is there for its customers. Any positive change in this situation will be reflected in an update.

Probably fine if you have carry-on only, but the terminal has a single, sparsely stocked cafe and while you can print a checked bag tag 4 hours before boarding, the Alaska desk doesn’t open until about 45 minutes before departure, so you’ll be waiting with no available services until you’re hurrying to get your bag checked and hope the remaining

The ticketing agent Patrick is amazing, the fastest, most knowledgeable, and needs a huge raise. I mean it. All of those 3 stars I am giving are for him, and nobody else. I've seen him 4x per year since 2022 and I guess I took him for granted. Unfortunately for me, Patrick was not working this morning at the Alaska ticket counter. I got in the short line at ticketing a whole 90 minutes before my son's flight. Plenty of time. But the line was so slow that it took them 43 minutes to move the 5 people ahead of me through. That's like 8.5 minutes per passenger. They were short staffed and inexperienced. When I got to the counter, the woman working there (bless her heart, she is just doing her job) had to tell me that ***the computer system doesn't allow her to print boarding passes for unaccompanied minors within 50 minutes of the departure time.*** Departure time was in 47 minutes and I had been waiting in line for ~43 minutes. She couldn't override the system and I was turned away. I called the Alaska airlines customer service and was on hold for over 2 hours but I managed to get my son's flight changed to the next available flight for only $50 (same-day flight change fee). While on hold for 2+ hours trying to get a new flight, I saw the next Alaska flights' passengers were lining up at ticketing and the line was twice as long. Then Patrick arrived for his shift and processed everyone so quickly and those people made their flights. He also was positive and made a few people smile. Pay Patrick more because he is basically your entire ticketing department and if he quits I am definitely never flying Alaska again.

Ok. This is all about Anthony at check in for flight to Seattle. I saw him walking and asked him a question. He was nice enough to answer my question and some. When it was time to check in I had no clue what I was doing. He treated me like I was a VIP customer. So much so that other customers thought I was. Because of him all the issues i had were taken care of all the way to the philippines. I would give details but it would take too long. A month later my wife encountered Anthony for the same flight. First he not only remembered her but describe me to my wife. He then took care of a serious baggage problem my wife had. Again he treated my wife like a VIP. Thanks Anthony for being such an accommodating and understanding person. By the way my name is Frank Watson. I was on the 5pm flight on April 10th to Seattle. We now live in the Philippines. Thanks to you our experience with Alaska airlines was a lot easier.

I had an awful experience where Alaska Airlines provided me with a gate number that did not exist
