Clearly Disgruntled Alaska Air gate agent: “Sir your bag weighs 51 lbs… Would you like to pay the $100 overweight bag fee?” Me: “Ok gimme a second and I’ll take care of that” “There - the plane will be much lighter now” Unreal….still can’t believe that actually happened…. If that’s what this airline forces its employees to do, this will be my last flight with them.

Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International airport is definitely worth the drive from Miami. Easy access, organized pickup/dropoff and share ride locations. Terminal entrances are marked with bright led signs so you know exactly where you need to go. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Glad I picked this destination for our puppy's new owner to meet up with us.

Airlines are fond of saying they're "doing all they can" to help when they cancel flights. Good example is that yesterday and today Fort Lauderdale airport is closed. Three of us have seats on a flight tomorrow (Friday April 14) from Fort Lauderdale to Seattle on Alaska Airlines, and we don't must fly then, so we called and offered our seats to Alaska airlines to help those who are desperate to get out of Florida. Alaska's response? Your flight is still scheduled so you can't move without a penalty, and besides, the tickets are companion tickets so you can't move 3 people. Really? Go figure - a seat is a seat and many, many people would really appreciate our seats. So when airlines say they are "doing all they can", well no, they're NOT! Sorry people, WE are "doing all we can"!

Alaskan Airlines are HORRIBLE. They took advantage of us after losing our luggage. We were on our way to Seattle when someone didn't load our luggage on the plane. So guess who Alaskan Airlines are blaming -- guess???? We didn't know if we were going to make the cruise ship to Alaska. 3 days before we got our luggage. We had to go on the glacier with the dog sleds with none of our winter clothes because it wasn't delivered to us before we went on the excursion. We couldn't dress up for the evening meals because Alaskan' Airlines was holding our luggage. When it came to the Port -- guess who had to PAY to get the luggage????? We had to pay. So I've been trying to get the money back. I quit writing Sabrina. I asked for a supervisor. NO -- she didn't wouldn't do that. She would look bad. She gave me a song and dance. But I got nowhere. Then she offered a $50 rebate if I spend $200. WHAT? What kind of deal is that? What is wrong with this picture? Alaskan Airlines looses my luggage. They give us a voucher but not enough to pay for our breakfast. They gave us a voucher for a night in a hotel but we wouldn't of had enough time to go to the hotel then turn around and come back at 4 to be ready to fly out of Kansas City by 6. We didn't know where the hotel was at 1:30 a.m. in a place we weren't familiar with. When the luggage is delivered to the port we had to pay $$$ for our luggage that Alaskan Airlines lost. Since when does the customer have to pay for Alaskan Airlines mistake??? No wonder they aren't losing money. How many others did Alaskan Airlines charge the customers for losing their luggage???? What a racket! DON"T fly on Alaskan Airlines. It is not worth the aggravation, the time spent, or the money gone in their pocket. It's a shame when the airlines have to steep that low to pay their employees after taking advantage of the customers.

Signage is hard to distinguish where the baggage drop off and ticketing is. Apparently it’s only open from a certain time of day but that sign only exist the counter and not where folks are. The digital signage is off during outside of those hours and I lot of us were confused. Thankfully Alaska came in early with a great team and got our bags taken care of. Suggestion: keeps the digital signs up and move the times to the front of the line in addition to the counter. Hope this helps!
