We got to experience Alaska Airlines at its worst in Charleston when our bags were delayed. I can't stress enough to you not to fly Alaska in to CHS if you like having your luggage during your trip π . Neither we nor the Alaska Central customer service office could get in touch with the CHS baggage service office once in the 4 days following our delayed bags. Yup, not once. Central office made many promises about CHS calling us soon to follow up and they kept none of those promises. We were nothing but cordial and respectful, since the delay truly wasn't Alaska's fault, but we weren't treated with the same level of basic dignity by simply reaching out with information or being available to answer questions. We eventually had to call the United Airlines desk in CHS to gather some intel that helped us track down our bags. Thank you United for being willing to help! I'd consider taking them instead if I were you. I know it could always be worse, but man... Alaska really pushed the limits of that phrase here this week.

Best airport staff and overall traveling experience. Boeing 737-800/900. As we waited to board we watched a 2 yo boy waving at the baggage handlers. Suddenly one of the handlers came up to personally acknowledge the youngster and thanked him for flying on his airplane. They exchanged "knucks" and the little boy watched a the guy went back to work! Made the little boys day....and restored our faith in thoughtful gestures π
