The Best Privately Owned Airport in the USA!!
-
A very clean and well maintained little Airport.

What happened to Edna's house? In the google earth photo looks like it is falling down. Took lessons back in 1981 from her and got my private license. So sad to see, she was an amazing pilot, teacher, and person.

This place has the roads of a third or fourth world country. Best to bring a backup car or truck in case the first one is broken in two by the many potholes and sudden changes in elevation between the multiple layers of pavement.

Northwest Regional or Aero Valley (52F) is an excellent stopover north of Fort Worth. I was looking for a place I could operate into an out of VFR with hangar space for two night’s RON. Called Glen Hyde, the owner and manager, a Marine F-4 Phantom Driver in the day, and when he heard I was an Air Force veteran and long time A-10 Hog Driver, he rolled out the red carpet and made sure I had a place for my RV-8. While the pumps at Epic were not in service, he confirmed my plan for getting fuel at Hamilton City Airport enroute. Best of all, he offered to meet me and take me where I needed if required. I’m sure we could have downed a cold one or two and shared some stories from back in the day. Anyway, when the pumps at Epic are back in service, 52F will be my go to when visiting family & friends in the DFW metroplex, assuming there’s room. Unmatched hospitality to Veteran pilots!
